Amorosa: The Revenge (2012)

Amorosa: The Revenge is a thriller horror movie mixed with psychological theme which makes it interesting to watch. Apart from a good casts which delivered great performance, notable acts were from Angel Aquino (who’s proving here power in dramatic acting here) and Enrique Gil.  There’s the horror theme, the interesting plot and the suspense moments that will surely scare the watchers plus the psychological theme that will get the interests of the watchers but there’s just some glitches in its story that can’t be ignore and if rewritten it could have been a better story.

Even thought there was a powerful ensemble of cast which was also made supported by child actress Xyriel Manabat, the glitches in the plot of the story is still evident by the climax of the movie. I felt it was quite a waste of a good casts because of just glitches in the story but do not fret, Amorosa: The Revenge wasn’t totally a disaster horror movie. The superb act performances of the cast saved it from getting a low review and it still has an overall good story to tell. It could have a better story and plot but I still recommend for a movie marathon.

Zero Dark Thirty (2012)

This movie is a solid action, drama and thriller that has an element of suspense and mystery that will keep you glued to the screen to find out what happens next to the greatest man-hunt of CIA - finding Osama Bin Laden. Dramatizing the manhunt for the "world's dangerous man" wasn't that easy as it has been criticize the by the public, politics and alleged controversies that surrounds the real-life story.

Though, there are moments in the movie that deems to be boring because of its long sequences of actions, I can't help but notice, one of the most notable acting performance by Jessica Chastain's role as a CIA lead in the manhunt. She delivered the role and act effortlessly that earned her a 2012 Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Chastain’ superb performance and act bring an ingredient to complete it for a critical acclaim film.  I hope Chastain does future movies with critically acclaimed acting like this one. I especially like her last scene shot in the movie where she cried silently as she goes home to US.  Overall, satisfying action and thriller war film.
