The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

A horror thriller movie shot in a found footage style similar to the likes of Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch Project. So ready yourself for a shaky viewing of this movie about a thesis project gone to devil possession investigation with a very shocking climax. Mia, Gavin and Luis went to Virgina and makes a film about Alzheimer's patient for their thesis but they discover otherwise evil entity that is disturbing their subject. And they are drawn to it until finding real sinister behind the paranormal behaviour of Deborah Logan. Although the theme tries to copy the themes of other found footage/documentary movies, it never failed to surprise watchers from having the suspense moment; scream-inducing scenes and surprise horror tension that horror movie fans were looking for.  I find the story interesting and very hooking to watch until the end but I won’t deny the fact that demonic possession theme is already saturated and rehash in this kind of films which could either turn-off movie watchers or expect more from this movie. Unfortunately, The Taking of Deborah Logan has nothing fresh to offer for this type of film but of reuse of an already use theme in this kind of found-footage film except that it took a different circumstances and angle in its story. It is still worth to watch if you’re looking for decent horror movie.
